Teaching in various educational roles for over 10 years has allowed me to develop a strong and unique background in understanding learners. I have taught students of all ages and abilities and have learned how to adapt teaching styles for kindergartners through adults. I understand the importance of getting to know students and their individual learning styles. Being able to target causes for specific difficulties allows me to create or locate appropriate learning materials that address these needs.
As someone who has always been curious for all types of information, I hold a wide array of knowledge for different topics and enjoy sharing that information with others in creative ways. By comprehending topics fully, I'm better able to break apart those subjects into sequential instructional stages to give to students. For me, the best feedback I can receive is that something became easier, and a student is anxious to learn more.
Coming into the field of instructional design felt like a natural progression which merges my work background in education, my creative interests for designing and the arts, and my analytical side of identifying patterns and solving problems.
